J&L EDC’s First Slider Release: GT-3D!
Hello,
After trying a wide range of sliders from budget-friendly ones to premium models I wanted to create my very own. With the help of a friend who has over 20 years of expertise in fine jewelry crafting, what started as a light project has now turned into a 3month journey.
After trying a wide range of sliders from budget-friendly ones to premium models I wanted to create my very own. With the help of a friend who has over 20 years of expertise in fine jewelry crafting, what started as a light project has now turned into a 3month journey.
During that time, we made over 40 prototypes, running endless tests based on both my collection experience and detailed adjustments. We experimented with internal structures, filament materials, designs, magnet strength, and placement — constantly tweaking and refining. Finally, after a round of closed beta testing, we’re ready to release the result.
Key Features of the GT-3D
Design
As the name suggests, the GT-3D is inspired by sports cars and was fully custom-designed.
It’s optimized for both vertical pushes (from below) and horizontal sliding.
With its rounded edges and side curves, it allows comfortable handling and smooth play from any grip.

Plates
We maximized hole-cutting and reduced thickness within 3D printer limits, minimizing contact surface area.
This reduces friction, resulting in smoother sliding.
It also prevents mid-spin stalling and unwanted oversnapping (accidental jumps to the next magnet slot).

Materials & Structure
Made with PETG-HF filament, offering higher strength, better heat resistance, and a more premium feel compared to standard filaments.
A dual structure with TPU inserts eliminates magnet wobble and enhances sound dampening, giving deep, solid feedback instead of the typical high-pitched “ticking” noise of 3D-printed sliders.

Optimized Magnet Setup
We tested nearly every magnet combination and settled on a hybrid of N45 and N38.
This hybrid setup ensures stability even in partially open diagonal states (without snapping back), enabling diverse gimmick play.
It provides smooth sliding, precise rotation, and accurate positioning.

We named the brand J&L EDC, taking inspiration from both of our initials.
With all components finalized and quality checks complete, the GT-3D will officially DROP in early September.
